woohoo!

had my first lesson of SWIM PE yesterday!
at first, i was quite paiseh..
u know.. everyone wearing swim suit.........................
haha.. but well.. in my category, the girls and guys were separated.. so not that paiseh..
learnt to float on the water and kick from one side to the other side..
i just simply cant swim straight.. =x
but overall, it was fun! cuz the teacher is funny! (lau chee keong)
haha.. i kept laughing la.. because i was enjoying myself! =)

here i am again! but its for a sad thing...

went to visit my grandma at NUH yesterday.
OMG.. when my dad told us she is half-paralysed, i start to think of many questions.
what does half-paralysed mean? from waist-down? or..?
how did she fall down that makes her PARALYSED??
why did she fall down?
will she still be able to hear us and talk normally to us?

all my questions are answered when i saw her lying on the hospital bed.
the left side of her body is paralysed.
she kept leaning towards her right and we had to go to her right side so that she can hear us.
she fell in the toilet.

SIAN..
just a fall can be so serious to an elderly. =(

people out there!
take good care of the elderly at home!
dont ever neglect them!

didnt update for a long time!

CNY (7/2 --10/2):
went my grandfathers' house on 7/2. haha.. it was really nice to wear new clothes! =) received quite a number of ANG BAOS this year. but still, the total amount is around the same as the past few years.. but anyway, enjoyed my CNY! we gambled, played BLACKJACK and MAHJONG! first year playing MAHJONG! =) but well, lost about 5 bucks in total.. haiz.. its the FUN that matters anyway! haha..

Cross Country(13/2):
was sick but still went. walked the whole 3.5km.. seriously WALKED! haha.. took about 45 mins.. it was a long and tiring journey. maybe i shouldnt have even gone there cuz i was really feeling unwell.. then, went to explore WEST COAST park and sat on the SPIDERWEBS.. haha.. we left when it was raining. and waited for 176 for about half an hour.. argh. decided to walk to the other side and take buses to JE for dinner instead. played bridge and ate at KOPITIAM. then the boss chased us out, saying we cant play cards there.. LOL. so went home.

VALENTINE'S DAY(14/2):
woo! reached school at 715 to meet CO people to pass them the roses.. haha.. it was fun giving and receiving! =) but was feeling very sick.. i had to go to school cuz the roses are with me.. if not, the CO people wont get them! well, i thought i will be able to overcome my sickness too.. haha.. the guys in my class also gave all girls a rose! WOW! unexpected! haha. but THANKS anyway! THANKS to CLARICE for giving me a SUNFLOWER too! =)
then went to meet the guys and PC at JP for dinner. Yiping gave 3 of us a rose each too! THANKS! =) had a hard time finding places to eat. at last, we decided to TAKEAWAY food and go WK's house to eat. haha. it was SIAN eating fish porridge! =( then played a few rounds of bridge then went home..
just a qn to ask, what if a person of the opposite sex gives u a big box full of folded roses/hearts? hmmmmmm...

FRIDAY(15/2):
ate medicine before going to school. woah.. made me very drowsy. cant concentrate on the lectures and tutorials. =( my eyes are closing though i tried very hard to concentrate.. maybe i shouldnt have even went to school. well, i thought i can overcome it again cuz FRIDAY is a short day for me..... thought too highly of myself... then went bakc home to sleep.. slept for 4 hours straight! maybe im really tired..

anyway, im still quite sick now.. but have to finish my homework. hopefully the medicine dont make me drowsy again.. if not i will end up sleeping for 4 hours again.... haha..

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVE!! =)

today is the FIRST time im performing on stage to everyone in ACJC.
and because of this, im very excited about the performance today and i tell myself to play my best and play as loudly as possible.
we are the FIRST item for the concert and of course, we have to play well! (so that ACJC people feel 'high'!)

the rest of the students had contact time while we are busy setting up the chairs and bringing all the instruments to the stage. (thanks to MRC for helping us with the microphones!)
we practised once with the conductor during that period of time.
everything went well.
i was nervous, yet excited to be able to perform.
as said earlier, it was my FIRST time performing for ACJC and it was my FIRST time being the ONLY player for my instrument. also, i was the one sitting at the outermost side facing the audience.
i tell myself i must not screw up this performance.

however, things do not seem to go the way i wanted.

something which have never ever happened to me before.
something which any performer does not want.
something which will make you panic.
something which happened when the concert is going to begin.

the wood thingy which you will turn and adjust the pitch of the note fall off.
okay. i kept myself calm and said to myself, everything will be fine. i will be able to tune it back without snapping the string.
(for your information, it is hard to tune my instrument because it can snap anytime, especially its the FIRST string, which its in this case)
i still panicked though i kept reassuring myself.
because there was no time to waste. (the concert is going to start VERY VERY soon)
so, a pipa guy(bryan) helped me tune.
for some reason or another, it just suddenly snapped.
i was never so worried and panicky in my life.
i have to get another instrument fast.
i ran down the stage to the CO room, but its locked.
i have to run back to the stage and get the key.
so i ran back to the room and get another instrument.
well, it was not tuned.
my mind was telling me, no matter what, i just have to get on stage FIRST.
but when i was running back to the stage, the emcees announced "Let's put our hands together to welcome the ACJC CHINESE ORCHESTRA!"
i quickly get to my seat and the curtains opened.
many people were telling me "just fake through the whole performance"
i calmed myself down and seriously faked through the whole performance.
i tried to smile because its CNY.
it was really hard for me.
i tell myself i must act as if im playing.
that was really a long 10-15 mins.

after the performance, i cried.
im so disappointed with myself.
im so sad i didnt get to do my best.
i wonder why does that have to happen to me, especially at such a crucial period of time.
i blame myself for not bringing another instrument on stage as a spare one.
i blame myself why i didnt tune properly.
i blame myself why i didnt check if the wooden thingy was tight or not.

ms too, zihui and others were comforting me saying its not my fault that the string snapped.
no one wanted it to happen.
i did just what other musicians will do--fake through the whole performance. (thats the last resort)
but i still cannot just ignore it and let it go.
i cannot pretend nothing has happened.

i dont know why i cried.
maybe because there are many of my FIRST times with this performance.
i dont know if i will have a phobia the next time i perform on stage.
i cannot let this happen to me again.
i promise.

then i went back to be seated with my class and tried to enjoy the concert.

but well, i tell myself to be happy because its NEW YEAR'S EVE.

concert ended at 1030.
CO had a LAO YUSHENG thingy.

after that, i went JP to meet APF and clarice. (pearl could not come as she was sick) GET WELL SOON! =)
as usual, they were DDR-ing.
went to yiping's house later to play cards.
very sleepy.
reached home at 530pm for reunion dinner.

31/1/08:

went to PJC to sell ACJC fun-o-rama coupons!
had to walk quite far to get there cuz the school is far inside..
but well, the school is quite big(however, still smaller than ACJC) =p
PJ's chicken rice is cheap but got a lot of fats.. THE SOUP IS VERY VERY NICE! =)
tiring to persuade people to buy.. some people are so *! i have not finished asking them and telling them what is the thing about, but they tell me straight they dont want to buy...... ehh.. dont be so rude la.. can say nicer stuff to reject people?
so i experienced many rejects that day! =( my heart almost cannot take it any longer.. =(

BUT thanks to JASLINE, XIAO PANG, and another malay guy from FUHUA! =) i sold 3 coupons to them! thanks very much! and plus PEARL and CLARICE! altogether i sold 5! =)

woohoo! hoping to sell more! =)
the teachers ask us to sell during CNY.. what the.. its quite stupid and weird! as in the adults give u HONG BAOS and u still ask them to buy the coupons.............. =S

anyway.......
WOOHOO! its CNY in 2 days' time! =)
i'm soooooooooo looking forward to it! haha..

AND, pls turn up tmr for the concert, people!
